Are we allowed to consult fortune-tellers, psychics, tarot card readers and Ouija boards?

The answer is that all of these things are forbidden.  Allah states in the Qur'an, "...and they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have no share in the happiness of the hereafter.  Terrible was the price for which they sold their souls if they only knew."  (2:102)

The Blessed Prophet said the following on the subject:

Abu Masud said that the Messenger of Allah regarded as illegal the price of a dog, the earnings of a prostitute and the fees taken by a fortune-teller."  (Bukhari)

The Blessed Prophet was asked how fortune-tellers (and psychics, etc...) got their secret information and he replied, "While the angels talk among themselves in the clouds about things that are going to happen on earth, the Shayateen (devils) hear a word of what they say and pour it into the ears of a fortune-teller like someone pouring something in a bottle.  Then they add 100 lies to that word."  (Bukhari)

"Whoever goes to a fortune-teller (kahin) has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad."  (Tirmidhi)

"Whoever goes to a fortune-teller and believes in what they say will have his Salah (prayer) go unaccepted for forty days."  (Ahmad)

"Whoever goes to a fortune-teller and asks a question will have forty days worth of prayers rejected."  (Muslim)
